The CMB.TECH Story: Standardizing Expertise in Industrial and Maritime Decarbonization
CMB.TECH is a global maritime group headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium.
The company specializes in large-scale decarbonization for the maritime and industrial sectors. Its activities are divided into two main pillars: H2 Industry (converting fossil fuel vehicles and vessels to hydrogen using conversion kits) and H2 Infra (developing, building, and managing infrastructure related to hydrogen and ammonia).
Their Needs
The project was driven by the need to standardize and digitize complex industrial processes within a mixed IT ecosystem. Their primary requirements were:
Standardization (H2 Industry): Capitalizing on technical expertise to create a standardized platform capable of managing the conversion of various vehicles to hydrogen (starting with a POC for 63 Ford trucks, followed by vessels, GenSets, etc.).
Technological Interoperability: Integrating Odoo (for Production, Sales, and After-Sales) with the company’s existing systems: 3DX (used for engineering and BOMs) and NetSuite (used for accounting and procurement).
End-to-End Infrastructure Management (H2 Infra): Managing the entire lifecycle of hydrogen/ammonia infrastructure: project planning, procurement, engineering, construction, compliance, operation, maintenance, and transport/sales.

To support the ambitions of H2 Industry and H2 Infra, we structured Odoo as the central platform for standardizing Hydrogen expertise, integrated into a hybrid software ecosystem (3DX & NetSuite):
H2 Industry (Conversion & POC): Digitizing the complete workflow for conversion kits (Trucks, Vessels, GenSets) with engineering integration from 3DX to Odoo Manufacturing, Sales, and Field Service.
H2 Infra (Infrastructure & Transport): Steering the ammonia and hydrogen value chain, covering Project Management, Odoo Maintenance (Asset Management), and transport logistics.
Standardization: Creating a common foundation to leverage technical expertise and efficiently replicate conversion models.
Interoperability: Seamless synchronization with NetSuite to maintain global financial consistency while preserving operational agility within Odoo.
